Shares of Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances Ltd. surged more than 15% on Tuesday, May 12, following the company's release of healthy March quarter (Q4FY26) earnings that were largely in-line with Street expectations. According to reports from CNBC TV18, the strong market response reflects investor confidence in the company's quarterly performance and growth prospects. The stock jumped as much as 17.6% during the session to hit an intraday high of ₹729.90 on the NSE before trading around ₹710 later in the day.
The company's revenue growth during the quarter was supported by strong demand for induction cooktops and electric cookers, amid higher LPG prices and supply concerns. As reported by CNBC TV18, Butterfly Gandhimathi reported double-digit growth across product categories, with pressure cookers and gas stoves emerging as key growth drivers. The company also highlighted increasing consumer adoption of electric cooking appliances amid LPG supply constraints. During the quarter, the company introduced several new products, including the relaunch of its breakfast appliance portfolio. The company's core product portfolio includes mixer grinders, pressure cookers, gas stoves and wet grinders.
For the quarter ended March 2026, Butterfly Gandhimathi reported revenue of ₹218 crore, registering a 16.6% year-on-year increase from ₹187 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. EBITDA rose 19.7% year-on-year to ₹20 crore compared to ₹16 crore a year ago, while EBITDA margin improved marginally to 8.9% from 8.7%. Profit after tax for the quarter increased 26.7% to ₹11 crore from ₹9 crore in Q4 FY25. The margin compression reflects the challenging cost environment faced by the company during the quarter. According to latest reports, net profit grew by ₹24 million compared to the same quarter last year, marking a sharp recovery in margins.
Commenting on the performance, Chief Business Officer Swetha Sagar said the company remained focused on building a stronger foundation for sustainable growth and profitability through organisational restructuring, capability enhancement, innovation, brand refresh and cost optimisation initiatives. Management noted that the company's new brand architecture received encouraging consumer response, while its "Idea First Series" emerged as a key growth driver during the year. Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances is engaged in kitchen and home appliance manufacturing and operates across categories including cookers, mixer grinders, gas stoves and electric appliances. Over the last 90 days, the company has focused on consolidating its product portfolio under the new management structure and recently announced a renewed focus on the e-commerce channel, which has contributed significantly to Q4 volume growth.
The strong Q4 performance validates the 'Crompton effect' where synergies in procurement and logistics are starting to bear fruit in the P&L. As reported by market analysts, profit growth of 26.7% coupled with a 16.6% revenue jump validates the company's margin expansion story. The magnitude of revenue growth (16.6%) exceeds the general sector average for kitchen appliances, indicating market share gains. The company is transitioning from a regional powerhouse to a national contender, with integration with Crompton's GTM strategy significantly improving supply chain efficiencies and reach. The positive earnings surprise may trigger a re-rating in the small-cap consumer durable space, with analysts noting that sustained raw material price stability and further distribution synergy updates from Crompton will be key metrics to track.
