Baroda Rayon Corporation delivered exceptional profitability in the June 2026 quarter, with standalone net profit rising 160.14% to ₹1,847.3 lakh compared to ₹710.2 lakh in the same period last year. According to the company's latest unaudited financial results approved by the Board of Directors on August 14, 2026, this dramatic profit increase was primarily driven by a ₹1,200 lakh exceptional gain from forfeited investor funds. The exceptional item accounted for approximately 65% of the pre-tax profit, with the remaining core profit before tax declining slightly to ₹647.3 lakh from ₹710.2 lakh in Q1 FY2026.
The company's operational revenue fell 19.6% to ₹1,798 lakh in Q1 FY2027, down from ₹2,236 lakh in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. As reported in the company's latest results, total revenue declined 16.3% to ₹1,888.1 lakh from ₹2,255.8 lakh in Q1 FY2026. The revenue contraction was primarily attributed to a 19.6% decline in revenue from operations, while other income rose sharply to ₹90.1 lakh from ₹19.8 lakh in the previous year. This revenue decline reflects challenging market conditions or operational adjustments that impacted the company's top-line performance during the quarter.
The real estate segment, which contributed ₹1,812.9 lakh to segment revenue, experienced a decline from ₹2,244 lakh in Q1 FY2025. Segment results for real estate stood at ₹577.9 lakh, down from ₹747.9 lakh previously. The textile segment, which has been operationally stalled since August 2008, reported revenue of ₹75.2 lakh, entirely comprising textile-related other income. Despite the revenue challenges, the company's total assets increased to ₹76,322.8 lakh as of June 30, 2026, from ₹73,228.7 lakh at the end of FY26, indicating growth in asset base.
Excluding the one-time exceptional gain, the company's core profit before tax declined slightly to ₹647.3 lakh from ₹710.2 lakh in Q1 FY2026. The earnings per share (EPS) before exceptional items declined to ₹2.83 from ₹3.10 in the prior year. The company noted that it has no tax liability for the quarter due to unabsorbed depreciation and brought-forward business losses. Kansariwala & Chevli, the statutory auditors, conducted a limited review of the results and expressed no modifications to their conclusion.
