Balrampur Chini Mills Limited reported a 14.39% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹44.15 crore for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, compared to ₹51.57 crore in the corresponding period last year. According to reports from Business Standard, the sugar manufacturing company's bottomline was impacted despite achieving revenue growth during the quarter. The company's revenue increased 6.13% to ₹1,636.79 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2027, compared to ₹1,542.27 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. As reported by Business Standard, this revenue growth indicates continued business expansion despite the profit decline, suggesting operational challenges in margin management during the quarter.
The company's EBITDA declined 15% to ₹102.84 crore in the quarter under review from ₹116.79 crore in Q1FY26. According to Business Standard reports, EBITDA margin contracted significantly to 6.96% from 8.70% in the previous year, indicating pressure on operational efficiency and profitability margins during the quarter. The margin compression of over 175 basis points reflects the challenging operating environment faced by the sugar manufacturing sector.
