
Bajaj Electricals Ltd reported a consolidated net loss of ₹67.53 crore for the March quarter FY26, marking a significant decline from the net profit of ₹59.05 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of FY25. According to a regulatory filing from the company, the loss was primarily attributed to contraction in gross margin and impact from new labour codes. The company had also reported an exceptional item net loss of ₹55.58 crore in the March quarter, mainly due to impairment of ₹29.31 lakh on certain property, plant and equipment and implementation of new Labour Codes. As per ETRealty, the company had a profit before exceptional items and tax of ₹6.85 crore in the quarter under review.
Revenue from operations stood at ₹1,239.52 crore in the March quarter, compared to ₹1,265.47 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. As reported by ETRealty, total expenses were at ₹1,242.10 crore during the quarter. The company's profit before exceptional items and tax was ₹6.85 crore in the quarter under review. Total income, including other income, was at ₹1,248.95 crore for the quarter.
According to the regulatory filing, revenue from Consumer Products (CP) was at ₹925.81 crore as against ₹994.01 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Revenue from Lighting Solutions was ₹313.71 crore in the March quarter. The company's diversified business segments showed mixed performance during the quarter.
For the entire FY26, Bajaj Electricals' loss was ₹90.86 crore against a profit of ₹133.42 crore in FY25. As reported by ETRealty, income for FY26 was at ₹4,524.34 crore. In a separate filing, the company informed its board has decided to maintain a dividend rate of 150 per cent, same as last year and accordingly recommended a final dividend of ₹3 per share of face value of ₹2 each for FY26.
Shares of Bajaj Electricals Ltd settled at ₹393.85 on BSE on Friday, down 0.78 per cent following the announcement of the quarterly results. The market reaction reflected investor concerns over the company's transition from profitability to losses, despite maintaining its dividend policy. As per ETRealty, the stock movement reflected market sentiment towards the company's financial performance during the quarter.
