NBFC firm Avanse Financial Services announced on January 5, 2026 that it has successfully raised ₹1,200 crore from its existing shareholders through a rights issue. According to the company's official announcement made in Mumbai, the funding came from Warburg Pincus LLC through its affiliate Olive Vine Investment Ltd., Kedaara Capital (through Kedaara Capital Growth Fund III LLP and Kedaara Pichola Holding Ltd.), and Alpha Investment Company LLC, a subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company PJSC. This capital raise demonstrates strong shareholder confidence and reflects the company's disciplined approach to building a diversified funding base.
The fresh capital will enable Avanse Financial Services to scale education loan disbursements across more students, courses, and countries. According to the latest company announcement, the funds will be strategically utilized to expand product offerings including flexi-term loans and receivable financing term loans, and seed new businesses in areas where financing gaps exist. The investment will also focus on strengthening digital platforms and analytics, deepening partnerships with universities, colleges and education counsellors, and shoring up capital adequacy to support balance sheet resilience for long-term sustainability.
Amit Gainda, Managing Director and CEO, stated that the rights issue reflected shareholder confidence in the company's strategy and governance. According to Gainda, "This capital will enable us to scale responsibly, reach more customers, identify white spaces, drive product innovation and continue building an inclusive financing ecosystem." He emphasized that India's education financing market is supported by favourable demographics and rising demand for higher education, alongside a growing need for structured financial support. The company is positioned to capture this opportunity through domain expertise, underwriting discipline and a technology-enabled operating model.
Avanse Financial Services has consistently delivered sustained growth by focusing on enabling the academic aspirations of Indian students. The NBFC specializes in education financing, catering to students pursuing higher education both within India and abroad. According to company statements, this growth is supported by robust risk management practices and strong execution capabilities across both domestic and international education segments. The fundraise adds to Avanse's equity base at a time when demand for education loans, both domestic and overseas, continues to expand, positioning the company for enhanced market reach with the new capital infusion.
