The company's tractor segment also showed remarkable strength with 59,935 units sold, exceeding the 56,000 unit target by 7% and demonstrating 12.2% year-on-year growth from 53,392 units in the previous year. According to reports, this tractor sales beat of magnitude indicates improving rural liquidity and positive farmer sentiment regarding monsoon progress. The company also announced a ₹471 crore investment to clear debt in its Turkish unit sale, with buyer contributions of USD 10 million from Hisarlar, Sahinkaya, and Sarioglu.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd sold a total of 2,00,390 units in June 2026, reflecting an 19.3% increase from June 2025. ICICI Securities has identified Hero MotoCorp, Maruti Suzuki and Bajaj Auto as their preferred OEM picks following robust June 2026 wholesale volumes. According to the brokerage's latest report, June 26 wholesale volumes remained robust, and broadly ahead of ICICI Securities' estimate, with GST cut-fuelled demand momentum continuing to underpin the auto sector's growth. Within two-wheelers, scooters and premium motorcycles drove overall segment growth, while passenger vehicle wholesales expanded in double digits, led by strong traction across domestic PCs/utility vehicles, and low channel inventory. In commercial vehicles, growth was broad-based across medium and heavy commercial vehicles and light commercial vehicles. However, demand sustainability amid the recent vehicle, fuel price hikes, along with the potential impact of below-average monsoon (especially on tractor segment), remains a monitorable factor for the sector.
Maruti Suzuki's production capacity demonstrated exceptional growth with total output jumping 39.58% to 1,78,024 units in June 2026 compared with 1,27,545 units produced in June 2025. Total passenger vehicle production rose 39.43% YoY to 174,839 units, while light commercial vehicle production increased 47.93% YoY to 3,185 units in June 2026 over June 2025. The Nifty Auto index is expected to trade between 26,200 support and 26,800 resistance on Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, with a positive outlook based on Tuesday's market performance. Maruti Suzuki's 5.24% intraday surge on Tuesday represents the sector's strongest single-stock move in weeks, with analysts flagging it as the dominant signal for the session. The sales beat is likely to trigger upward revisions in FY27 EPS estimates, with strong tractor numbers acting as a lead indicator for the wider rural economy.
