Afcons Infrastructure has secured two significant engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts in Uttar Pradesh with a combined value of nearly ₹3,469 crore. According to the company's senior management, these projects bring the company's fresh orders secured in 2026-27 to ₹19,438 crore. The contracts were awarded by the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) for infrastructure development projects in the state. Krishnamurthy Subramanian, Executive Chairman of Afcons, stated that "The award of these projects reflects the confidence that leading infrastructure agencies place in Afcons' engineering capabilities and execution excellence." S Paramasivan, MD of Afcons, emphasized that "These wins further strengthen our order book and reinforce our commitment to delivering complex, nation-building infrastructure projects."
The UPEIDA has awarded the ₹2,086 crore Jewar Link Expressway contract for the construction of a 24.5-km access-controlled greenfield expressway. As reported by the company, the six-lane corridor is expandable to eight lanes and will connect the Noida International Airport at Jewar. The expressway is expected to significantly enhance airport accessibility, reduce travel times, and improve logistics efficiency by linking two of Uttar Pradesh's most important expressway corridors - Yamuna Expressway and Ganga Expressway. The project will support regional economic development while strengthening connectivity for passengers and freight traffic across western and central Uttar Pradesh. Subramanian noted that "The Jewar Link Expressway and the Lucknow Metro underground corridor are transformative projects that will enhance mobility, support economic growth, and improve quality of life for millions of people across Uttar Pradesh and NCR."
The second contract involves the ₹1,383 crore underground metro stretch under the Lucknow Metro Phase-1B project awarded by UPMRC. According to the company statement, the scope includes seven underground metro stations, associated civil and architectural works, utility systems, fire safety infrastructure and connectivity between underground and elevated sections. This project forms a crucial component of the broader Lucknow Metro Phase-1B development initiative. Paramasivan highlighted that "With these two projects, the fresh orders secured in FY27 stands at ₹19,438 crores."
Both projects are positioned to significantly enhance transportation infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. The Jewar Link Expressway will create an integrated high-speed transportation network across the state, while the Lucknow Metro Phase-1B project will provide comprehensive urban mobility solutions. These contracts demonstrate the continued infrastructure development momentum in the state and Afcons' strong position in securing major EPC projects in the region. The projects are expected to create long-term value for all stakeholders and support economic growth across the region.
