According to reports from CNBC TV18, The Economic Times, and a regulatory filing, Adani Green Energy reported a 24% rise in operational renewable capacity to 20,763 MW for the first half of FY27. The company added 4,083 MW of greenfield capacity during the April-September period, with 621 MW added during the second quarter of FY27. The operational update was released on October 10, covering the six months ended September 30, 2026, with the company's board set to consider Q2FY27 financial results on October 21. The portfolio now comprises 14,550 MW of solar, 2,947 MW of wind, and 3,266 MW of hybrid projects, representing significant growth across all segments.
As reported by CNBC TV18, The Economic Times, and a regulatory filing, energy sales increased 32% to 25,747 million units for the first half of FY27. The company also operationalised 3,081 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity at Khavda in Gujarat during the July-September quarter, taking its total installed BESS capacity to 6,632 MWh as of September 30, 2026. The increase in energy sales during H1 FY27 reflects the expansion of AGEL's operational renewable energy portfolio over the period. The surge in generation volume was supported by strong plant availability across all resource segments, with solar grid availability at 78.9% due to transmission curtailment during daytime peak hours.
According to the provisional operational update and regulatory filing, Adani Green Energy reported a capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 22.9% for its solar portfolio, 42.9% for its wind portfolio and 45.2% for its hybrid portfolio during H1 FY27. Plant availability stood at 99.3% for solar, 94.6% for wind and 98.8% for hybrid projects. The company's operational portfolio powered more than 4.4 million homes and helped avoid 17.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions during the first half of FY27. Notably, while plant availability remained robust, solar grid availability declined to 78.9% from 87.0% in FY26 due to delayed grid access and transmission curtailment during daytime peak hours.
The company's contracted power portfolio shows increasing stability with 56% of total sales coming from 25-year fixed tariff PPAs at 14,478 million units in H1FY27, up from 37% in the same period last year. This represents a significant shift in revenue visibility alongside volume growth. AGEL met 58% of its annual PPA commitment in the first half alone, indicating strong execution against contractual obligations despite grid constraints. The addition of 6.6 GWh of BESS capacity signals a strategic move toward firming up renewable output, potentially mitigating future merchant price volatility and curtailment risks.
According to market data, Adani Green Energy shares closed 1.63% higher at ₹1,255.80 on the NSE on October 9, though the operational update was announced on Saturday. The stock has declined more than 1% in the past week and 4% over the month, but has advanced 22% on a year-to-date basis. The company has a total market capitalisation of ₹2.07 lakh crore as of October 10, 2026. The board of directors will meet on October 21 to consider Q2FY27 earnings, followed by an investor call on October 22 to discuss financial results and business outlook. The trading window for securities will remain closed from October 1 to reopen on October 23, 50 hours after results are made public.
