ACME Solar Holdings shares gained 1.80% to ₹306 on Tuesday, May 26, following the announcement of a significant power purchase agreement. According to latest reports, the stock was trading at ₹306 per share after the company signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for 300 MW assured peak renewable energy capacity. The company's market capitalisation stood at ₹18,579.10 crore as of May 26. Despite the recent gains, the stock remains nearly 5% below its 52-week high of ₹324.30 per share touched on September 15, 2025, and is still 58% above its 52-week low of ₹309.15 reached on March 27, 2026. The benchmark Nifty 50 index was trading marginally higher during the morning session, rising 0.14% to 24,064.15 levels.
The upward movement was triggered by ACME Solar Holdings' announcement that through its wholly owned subsidiary ACME Renewtech Sixth Private Limited, it has signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for 300 MW / 1,200 MWh ISTS-connected assured peak power capacity. As reported by latest sources, this FDRE project will be connected to ISTS substations and utilise ACME Solar's existing night-time connectivity available at high irradiation zones. Under the PPA, ACME Solar will supply four hours of assured peak power only during non-solar hours, with a minimum annual availability requirement of 85%. The agreement carries a tariff of ₹6.28 per unit and is scheduled to commence supply from May 28, 2028, with the agreement tenure valid for 25 years from the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date.
According to latest reports, a combined total of nearly 1.7 million equity shares, estimated to be worth nearly ₹330 crore, have exchanged hands on the NSE and BSE during Tuesday's trading session. The project was awarded to ACME Solar under SECI's FDRE Tranche-VII tender, pursuant to the Letter of Award (LOA) dated February 10, 2026. The tender was issued under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines, with the e-reverse auction conducted on February 2, 2026. With this latest addition, out of the total contracted portfolio of 8,070 MW, the PPA-signed portfolio now stands at 6,570 MW. The company's under-construction PPA-signed portfolio currently stands at 3,580 MW, reflecting continued expansion across hybrid and dispatchable renewable energy projects.
As per the latest shareholding pattern, Domestic Institutional Investors (DII) increased their stake in ACME Solar to 7.05% during Q4FY26 from 6.87% in the previous quarter, while Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) holding declined to 3.60% from 4.03% during the same period. The contracted capacity under the PPA stands at 300 MW compared to the earlier awarded capacity of 301 MW, with the adjustment mutually agreed for optimisation of project configuration and implementation. The stock continues to attract solid buying interest from investors despite the partial paring of gains, with renewable energy stocks remaining in focus following long-term project and power purchase agreement announcements.
