ACME Solar Holdings shares rose 2.34% to ₹371.55 following the company's announcement of operationalising a cumulative 3.62 GWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity across three project sites in Rajasthan. The company has commissioned around 2.29 GWh of BESS capacity in the current financial year so far, marking what it describes as one of the fastest scale-ups of battery energy storage capacity in India. The projects are expected to strengthen grid stability, support peak-hour electricity demand and facilitate the integration of round-the-clock renewable energy.
According to reports from Business Standard, ACME Solar Holdings has secured a significant power purchase agreement through its subsidiary ACME Renewtech Fifth Private. The company signed a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 300 MW ISTS-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Renewable Energy Project. The latest reports confirm the tariff has been set at ₹3.25 per unit under Hybrid Tranche IX, with the Scheduled Commencement of Supply Date (SCSD) of June 30, 2028. The tariff for this project has already been approved and adopted by both Central and State Regulators, providing regulatory certainty for the project's financial structure.
According to the latest reports, this new PPA significantly expands ACME Solar's contracted portfolio capacity. With this addition, the company's total PPA-signed portfolio now stands at 6,870 MW out of its total contracted portfolio of 8,070 MW. This represents a substantial portion of the company's total contracted renewable energy capacity, demonstrating the scale of the project and its strategic importance to ACME Solar's renewable energy portfolio. The company's operational contracted capacity stands at 2,990 MW, while the under-construction contracted capacity is 5,080 MW, with the under-construction PPA-signed portfolio currently totalling 3,880 MW.
On a consolidated basis, ACME Solar Holdings reported strong financial performance with net profit rising 12.94% to ₹139.32 crore and net sales increasing 12.50% to ₹547.77 crore in Q4 March 2026 over Q4 March 2025. The company also provided an update on the fire incident at its ACME Suryodaya BESS facility in Pokhran, Rajasthan. The root cause analysis found that the incident was triggered by an electrical short circuit that caused a localized fire in the AC cables between the transformer and the power conversion system (PCS), leading to an equipment shutdown. However, the fire did not damage other equipment at the site and was brought under control quickly, with restoration activities since completed.
