Global technology consulting firm Accenture has appointed Pradeep Prabhala, a former McKinsey & Company partner, as lead for its India Market Unit, effective September 1, 2026. According to reports from PTI, Prabhala will focus on artificial intelligence-led transformation and India's fast-growing Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem. In his new role, he will partner with Indian clients to leverage AI and data for faster growth, higher productivity, and more agile business models. He will also work with multinational companies to expand and strengthen their Global Capability Centres in India, positioning them as hubs for innovation, transformation, and operational resilience - a key focus area for Accenture worldwide. The appointment highlights Accenture's focus on strengthening leadership in India, one of its largest growth markets, and on scaling capabilities that help clients drive value through data and AI.
The leadership appointment reflects Accenture's strategic focus on India's growing technology sector. As reported by PTI, Arundhati Chakraborty, Global Lead, Finance & GCC and Executive Sponsor – India Market Unit at Accenture, stated that India remains central to the company's growth agenda. She observed that as organisations double down on technology-led reinvention and look to extract greater value from AI and data, the opportunity to lead is significant. Chakraborty emphasized that "India remains central to Accenture's growth agenda as organisations double down on technology-led reinvention and look to extract greater value from AI and data. Prabhala's deep cross-industry and global experience makes him well suited to capture that momentum." The company expects Prabhala to help clients unlock growth opportunities through technology and support GCCs as strategic hubs for innovation, transformation and resilience.
Prabhala brings over 20 years of consulting experience spanning artificial intelligence, digital transformation, commercial strategy, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain transformation and sustainability. According to PTI, he joins Accenture from McKinsey & Company, where he led the firm's consumer practice in India and its agriculture business across Asia. Before McKinsey, he spent nearly a decade at Monitor Deloitte, advising companies on growth strategy, market expansion and business transformation across multiple geographies. He began his professional journey at Hindustan Unilever, where he was part of the founding team that built the company's modern trade business in India. Beyond his corporate leadership experience, Prabhala is an early-stage investor in AI, enterprise software and deep technology companies in India and the United States. He has also been named an incoming Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Fellow and Salzburg Fellow.
The appointment comes as multinational companies are expanding their Global Capability Centres in India to support innovation, product engineering and digital operations rather than just back-office functions. As reported by PTI, the growing adoption of AI across industries has increased demand for consulting firms that can help enterprises modernise operations and improve productivity. Accenture's decision to strengthen its leadership team reflects the company's focus on capitalising on opportunities in one of its fastest-growing markets while supporting clients through the next phase of AI-led business transformation. The appointment reflects Accenture's continued investment in leadership, talent and AI-led capabilities as demand for digital transformation, data-driven decision-making and Global Capability Centres continues to grow across the Indian market.
