
Aavas Financiers Limited has officially completed its major leadership transition with the appointment of Manu Yeshpal Singh as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective April 21, 2026. According to the company's regulatory filing under SEBI Regulation 30, the Board of Directors approved Singh's appointment based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The appointment as Chief Executive Officer is effective from April 21, 2026, while the appointment as Managing Director will become effective upon receipt of approval from the Reserve Bank of India and shareholder approval. The company disclosed this outcome following its Board meeting held on April 20, 2026, which commenced at 8:19 A.M. and concluded at 8:34 A.M. Mr. Sachinderpalsingh Jitendrasingh Bhinder has resigned from his role as Managing Director and CEO, effective April 20, 2026, and will continue to support the company as a Senior Advisor to ensure a seamless transition. As per multiple reports, Bhinder cited professional and personal commitments as the reason for his departure.
Singh brings over 25 years of experience spanning Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Capital, ICICI Bank, and Tata Motors, with a background in sourcing, credit, operations, and collections across retail lending businesses. At Kotak Mahindra Bank, he served as President and Business Head for Housing Finance, overseeing a ₹70,000 crore franchise and was elevated twice in five years, most recently in 2024. Prior to Kotak, Singh spent over a decade at Tata Capital, where he managed an ₹8,000 crore Personal Loans and Business Loans book with responsibilities including retail lending products such as auto loans, two-wheeler loans, consumer durables, commercial vehicle finance, business loans, home loans, and home equity. Earlier at ICICI Bank, he became the youngest AGM, managing ₹3,000 crore in monthly inventory funding for two-wheeler loans to OEMs. Singh is a seasoned business leader with over two decades of experience in retail lending, housing finance, and consumer banking, with a track record of scaling retail lending portfolios, including personal loans and business loans, while focusing on digital transformation and operational efficiency. The company notes that Mr. Singh is not debarred from holding the office of director by any regulatory authority.
The company added 38 branches during the year, expanding its network to 435 branches nationwide. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, Board Chairperson Sandeep Tandon stated that the company is positioned for its next phase of scalable growth, citing Singh's sector expertise and operating experience as key factors in the selection. The new MD's mandate will centre on sustaining growth in affordable housing finance, prudent underwriting, and continued investment in technology and distribution. Outgoing MD Sachinderpalsingh Jitendrasingh Bhinder will remain as a senior advisor to ensure a smooth transition, with the Board expressing gratitude for his significant contributions to the company's growth and stability.
Under Mr. Bhinder's leadership, Aavas achieved 36% quarter-on-quarter and 16% year-on-year growth in disbursements for the quarter ending March 31, 2026, demonstrating robust operational performance. The company's total market capitalisation stands at ₹10,823.68 crore, reflecting its strong market position in the affordable housing finance sector.
