
3M India Ltd has temporarily suspended manufacturing operations at its Ahmedabad plant following heavy rainfall and flooding in the region. According to a regulatory filing on Friday (July 24), the disruption followed heavy rains experienced in Ahmedabad over the previous two days. The company stated that water levels at the plant have started receding, but restoration of operations is expected to take a few days while it assesses any damage to assets. "The manufacturing operations at the Company's Ahmedabad Plant have been temporarily suspended due to heavy rainfall and flooding in the region experienced yesterday and today," the company said in its filing to stock exchanges. As per the latest reports, production is unlikely to resume immediately despite the receding water levels, as the company continues to assess the extent of asset damage.
The company reported strong fourth-quarter earnings for FY26, with net profit surging to ₹215 crore from ₹71.4 crore in the corresponding period last year. Revenue from operations rose 17% year-on-year to ₹1,399.2 crore, while EBITDA increased 13.7% to ₹258 crore. EBITDA margin moderated marginally to 18.4% from 18.9% a year earlier. The earnings performance was aided by a one-time gain of ₹40 crore during the quarter, compared with nil exceptional gains a year ago.
3M India announced a hefty shareholder payout after reporting strong fourth-quarter earnings, with the board recommending a total dividend of ₹506 per equity share comprising a final dividend of ₹160 and a special dividend of ₹346 per share. The company has fixed July 17, 2026 as the record date to determine shareholder eligibility for the dividend payout. Subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming annual general meeting scheduled for August 2026, the dividend will be paid within 30 days of the AGM.
Managing Director Aseem Joshi said the company delivered strong broad-based growth across all segments, led by the healthcare business. During the quarter, Healthcare grew 21.3%, Safety & Industrial rose 19.5%, Consumer increased 15.7%, while Transportation & Electronics expanded 12.6%. For the full financial year FY26, 3M India reported 14.5% sales growth, with all business verticals posting double-digit growth amid sustained customer demand and operational execution.
Shares of 3M India Ltd ended at ₹35,456.00, down by ₹215.75, or 0.61%, on the BSE. The company stated that all its assets are adequately insured and added that, given its sufficient manufacturing capacities at other locations, it does not foresee any material impact on its overall operations. "We would like to clarify that all assets of the Company are adequately insured," the company said, adding that it would continue monitoring the situation and provide updates on the resumption of normal operations. The temporary suspension is not expected to have a material impact on the company's overall business operations due to manufacturing capacity available at other facilities.
