The Indian Bullion Association (IBA) confirmed that retail gold prices in India remained elevated on May 13, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹161,410 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹147,959 per 10 grams.
The average price for 22-carat gold in India today is ₹15,440 per gram, marking an increase of ₹1,275. For 8 grams, the price stands at ₹1,23,520, up by ₹10,200. The 24-carat gold price stands at ₹16,212 per gram (up by ₹1,339) and ₹1,29,696 for 8 grams (up by ₹10,712). As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, these figures represent the national benchmark for gold pricing across Indian markets. According to the Indian Bullion Association, 24-carat gold is priced at ₹161,410 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹147,959 per 10 grams.
Mumbai maintains the same pricing structure as the national average, with 22-carat gold at ₹15,440 per gram and 24-carat gold at ₹16,212 per gram. Chennai shows slightly lower rates with 22-carat gold at ₹15,400 per gram (up ₹1,070) and 24-carat gold at ₹16,170 per gram (up ₹1,123). Hyderabad follows the same pattern with 22-carat gold at ₹15,400 per gram and 24-carat gold at ₹16,170 per gram. Delhi shows slightly higher rates with 22-carat gold at ₹15,490 per gram and 24-carat gold at ₹16,265 per gram. Ahmedabad and Kolkata also reflect the national trend with similar pricing structures across both gold categories.
Bengaluru shows the highest pricing among major cities with 22-carat gold at ₹15,500 per gram and 24-carat gold at ₹16,275 per gram. Kolkata commands premium rates with 22-carat gold at ₹15,540 per gram and 24-carat gold at ₹16,317 per gram. According to the latest data, Hyderabad shows 24-carat gold at ₹162,610 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹149,059 per 10 grams. Ahmedabad is priced at ₹161,950 for 24-carat and ₹148,450 for 22-carat gold. These regional variations reflect local market dynamics and supply-demand conditions across different cities in India.
Silver prices have experienced a significant surge, with MCX Silver contracts for July 3 delivery jumping 6.42% to ₹2,96,984 per kilogram. The current silver price in Delhi stands at ₹295.72 per gram and ₹2,95,720 per kilogram, while Chennai commands a premium at ₹297.57 per gram and ₹2,97,570 per kilogram.
