The Board conducted a comprehensive review of the current economic situation, global and domestic challenges, and risks to the economic outlook. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, the meeting also reviewed global and domestic financial challenges facing the economy. The RBI board's review of the economic situation carries importance as the apex bank continues to monitor risks that could affect growth, inflation, financial stability and the broader macroeconomic environment, particularly given the current economic situation where the Indian economy is experiencing the impact of global changes including developments in international markets, geopolitical uncertainties and evolving domestic conditions.
According to the RBI statement, the meeting included Revathy Iyer, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, industrialists Anand Mahindra, and Former ISRO chairman Somanath Sreedhara Panicker among the attendees. The board's review of the scheme comes during the rapidly changing financial system, where digital payments have considerably increased and so have the complaints.
