State Bank of India has announced the appointment of Deepak Kaushik as Chief General Manager (CGM) of the Bank's Bengaluru Circle. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, Kaushik will oversee the bank's operations across the entire State of Karnataka. Kaushik brings extensive international banking experience to his new role. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, he previously served as SBI's Country Head for East Asia at the Hong Kong Office, where he oversaw international banking operations and strategic business initiatives in the region. This international experience will likely prove valuable in managing the bank's second-largest circle operations.
The Bengaluru Circle represents SBI's second-largest circle in terms of total business, comprising 1,573 branches across Karnataka state. According to the announcement, Kaushik will oversee the bank's operations across the entire state, managing one of SBI's most significant operational regions. This circle's size and importance to the bank's overall business make the appointment particularly significant for SBI's Karnataka operations.
