According to reports from Zee News, IndusInd Bank has announced significant changes to credit card fee and interest calculation methods that will take effect from June 15, 2026. The changes will impact cardholders across several product categories, including late payment charges, fuel transaction fees, Dynamic Currency Conversion fees, and transaction fees on transport. These modifications represent a comprehensive overhaul of the bank's credit card fee structure and payment policies.
As reported by Zee News, the bank has introduced a new policy for partial payments that will affect how interest accrues on outstanding balances. Card members making partial payments but paying in full on or before the due date will continue to accrue interest on the closing balance from the previous statement until the current payment is processed. This interest will be collected in the following month's statement, with card members only benefiting from the interest-free period once the following month's statement is paid in full. The bank provided an illustration using November 18 and December 18 statements to explain the new policy. Under the revised policy, customers are required to pay their full dues to avail the interest-free credit facility. Those who do not pay their statement balance in full will continue to incur interest not only on the unpaid amount but also on the new amount they will avail as credit. Credit card users can enjoy the interest-free period only after they ensure to pay all the outstanding balance for two consecutive statement cycles, marking a significant change from the earlier policy where the interest-free period used to resume once the outstanding balance was fully repaid.
According to the bank's announcement reported by Zee News, IndusInd Bank will levy a 1 percent fee plus GST on cumulative fuel spends above ₹30,000 per statement cycle, representing a reduction from the earlier threshold of ₹50,000. This fee structure applies to fuel transactions and represents a change from the bank's previous fee structure for fuel purchases. Most of the standard-tier cards will come with a 1% fee waiver (excluding applicable GST). The threshold will remain unchanged for mid and premium-tier cards, including the Tiger Credit Card. The fee is applicable on Platinum RuPay, Platinum, Platinum Aura Edge, Duo, ePay Amex, Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner Platinum, Iconia Visa, Platinum Aura Edge (For Government Sector), Platinum Aura, Platinum Select, Signature, Samman, IndusInd Bank Jio-bp Mobility+ Credit Card and CRED IndusInd Bank RuPay Credit Card. The fee is not applicable on Pioneer Private, Pioneer Heritage and Indus Solitaire credit cards.
As reported by Zee News, the bank will charge 1 percent fee plus GST on cumulative spends above ₹40,000 for transport transactions, excluding air-related MCCs. The specific air-related MCCs that are excluded from this fee structure include 4111, 4112, 4784, and 4131. The fee will apply to categories such as cabs, railways, buses, tolls and related transport services. The fee will not apply to Pioneer Private, Pioneer Heritage and Indus Solitaire credit cards. This change affects various transport-related purchases and represents a modification to the bank's existing fee structure for transportation expenses.
According to the bank's announcement reported by Zee News, the bank will implement two different markup fees for Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) based on card variant. The options include 1 percent markup fee plus GST or 2 percent markup fee plus GST, providing cardholders with different fee structures depending on their specific card type. This change affects transactions where currency conversion is required during international or cross-border purchases. The bank has revised its Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) charges, which apply when international merchants bill customers in indian rupees instead of the local currency. Additionally, late payment charges have been revised with new slabs as shown in the table below: | Outstanding Balance | Late Payment Charge | ₹ Up to ₹100 | NIL | ₹101 – ₹500 | ₹100 | ₹501 – ₹1,000 | ₹500 | ₹1,001 – ₹5,000 | ₹600 | ₹5,001 – ₹10,000 | ₹750 | ₹10,001 – ₹25,000 | ₹900 | ₹25,001 – ₹50,000 | ₹1,100 | Above ₹50,000 | ₹1,300 |.
