
Indian Bank successfully conducted a Mega Retail, Agri & MSME Credit Campaign on August 21, 2026, achieving significant sanctioning and disbursement figures. According to the bank's statement, the campaign received an overwhelming response with credit proposals mobilised amounting to ₹2,080 crore. Of this total, ₹1,125 crore was sanctioned and ₹575 crore was disbursed, demonstrating the bank's strong commitment to supporting diverse sectors in Chennai.
The campaign was organised by Indian Bank's Field General Manager's Office (FGMO), Chennai, led by Padmavathy Srikant, Field General Manager. The campaign was attended by MD and CEO Binod Kumar and CGM–Retail & MSME Sujay Mallik, with Kumar presenting sanction letters to beneficiaries across diverse sectors. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Kumar reaffirmed the bank's commitment to empowering customers and supporting the growth of Retail, Agriculture and MSME segments, in line with the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
On the occasion, Kumar handed over sanction letters to 46 beneficiaries, representing a total credit exposure of ₹207 crore across diverse Retail, Agriculture and MSME segments. According to the bank's statement, this direct beneficiary engagement demonstrates the tangible impact of the campaign on individual customers and businesses across multiple sectors in Chennai.
The campaign saw active participation of FGMO Chennai span zones, including Chennai North, Chennai South, Poonamallee, Kancheepuram, Puducherry, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai and Cuddalore zonal teams.
