
Indian Bank celebrated its 120th Foundation Day with a series of community initiatives, marking the occasion alongside India's 80th Independence Day. The bank distributed sanction letters aggregating to ₹1,220 crore across the Retail, Agriculture and MSME sectors at a Disbursement and Customer Outreach Camp organised in Mumbai. According to reports from The Hindu BusinessLine, the camp covered the regions of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa as part of the bank's 120th Foundation Day fortnight celebrations. As per The Hindu BusinessLine, the initiative is aligned with the Bank's strategic objective of strengthening its presence across the RAM segments and contributing to inclusive growth through customer-centric banking, enhanced access to credit, and support for the financial aspirations of individuals, farmers and entrepreneurs.
Of the total sanctions, the MSME segment accounted for ₹615 crore, underscoring the bank's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and the growth of the MSME sector. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, Shri Binod Kumar, MD & CEO, Indian Bank, inaugurated the camp and handed over sanction tickets to the beneficiaries. The MSME segment's substantial allocation reflects the bank's strategic focus on supporting entrepreneurship and economic growth in this sector. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Binod Kumar, MD & CEO, Indian Bank, emphasized the bank's commitment to delivering superior customer service while driving transformative initiatives across the RAM segments, stating that "timely and adequate access to credit is critical to enabling individuals, farmers and entrepreneurs to realise their aspirations."
As part of its digital journey, the bank launched various customer-centric products and virtually inaugurated 15 branches across different parts of the country, reinforcing the bank's commitment to taking accessible and customer-centric banking services closer to communities across India. The celebrations were attended by Executive Directors Ashutosh Choudhury, Shiv Bajrang Singh and Mini T.M., along with senior officials, employees and their families. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, MD and CEO Kumar reaffirmed the bank's commitment to strengthening financial inclusion, empowering communities and contributing meaningfully to India's journey towards a stronger, more inclusive and prosperous future of VIKSIT BHARAT.
As part of its community and social responsibility initiatives, the bank extended support to beneficiaries through several interventions. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, two-wheelers were donated to CanCare Foundation, Chennai, to facilitate palliative care to cancer patients. Hearing aids, prostheses and other assistive devices were distributed to beneficiaries of Akshaya Trust, while an e-bike was donated to a national-level para powerlifting bronze medallist, supporting her mobility and sporting pursuits. The bank also undertook various CSR initiatives across the country, including donating computers, laptops and essential infrastructure items to Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, Mumbai, and providing financial assistance towards the development of sports activities at Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT).
