
State-owned Bank of Baroda achieved a historic milestone by crossing the ₹30 lakh crore global business milestone for the first time in Q4FY26. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, the bank's global business rose 13.93% year-on-year to ₹30.78 lakh crore as of March-end 2026, compared to ₹27 lakh crore in the corresponding quarter last year. This growth was driven by steady expansion across key business segments, with the figures being part of the bank's quarterly business update.
The bank demonstrated robust deposit mobilization capabilities with global deposits increasing 12.83% to ₹16.48 lakh crore in Q4FY26, up from ₹14.72 lakh crore in the year-ago period. As reported by The Hindu BusinessLine, domestic deposits rose 12.83% YoY to ₹14.01 lakh crore, compared with ₹12.42 lakh crore in Q4FY25. This deposit growth reflects the bank's ability to attract and retain customer funds effectively during the quarter. The bank's low-cost CASA deposits were 34.14% of overall deposits as of March-end 2026, slightly lower than 34.79% in the previous year.
Global advances showed strong momentum with growth exceeding 16% to ₹14.30 lakh crore during the January-March quarter, compared with ₹12.30 lakh crore in the year-ago period. According to The Hindu BusinessLine, domestic advances grew 14.56% YoY to ₹11.69 lakh crore, compared with ₹10.21 lakh crore in the previous year. Within the domestic segment, domestic retail advances surged 17.93% to ₹3.03 lakh crore from ₹2.56 lakh crore in Q4FY25, indicating strong retail banking performance. The bank's RAM (retail, agriculture and MSME) advances increased by 12.59% YoY to ₹5.99 lakh crore as of March-end 2026.
The bank's financial metrics showed strong performance with total income growing 21.70% to ₹199.37 crore in Q4FY26 compared to ₹164.64 crore in Q4FY25. Profit after tax increased significantly by 37.81% to ₹13.33 crore from ₹9.66 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The bank maintained healthy profitability with net profit margin at 6.69% and return on equity at 21.69%, demonstrating strong operational efficiency and capital utilization during the quarter.
As reported by The Economic Times, Bank of Baroda announced its Q4 updates late Thursday, with shares settling 0.80% lower at ₹250 on the NSE in the previous session. The bank's performance in Q4FY26 builds on its previous quarter results, where in Q3FY26 it reported credit growth of 15% to ₹13.44 lakh crore and total deposits growth of 10% to ₹15.47 lakh crore. The total business (credit and deposits) had risen 12.22% to ₹28.91 lakh crore as of December 31, 2025. This latest achievement of crossing the ₹30 lakh crore milestone represents a significant milestone in the bank's growth trajectory.
