Bank of Baroda has launched bob World 2.0, its next-generation mobile banking application powered by artificial intelligence, at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2026 in Mumbai on September 11, 2026. The public sector bank demonstrated this comprehensive digital banking solution to Sanjay Lohiya, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in the presence of Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, and the bank's Executive Directors. According to Bank of Baroda, bob World 2.0 is designed as a key component of its broader digital transformation journey, with the application developed on a modern microservices-based digital architecture and positioned as an intelligent financial ecosystem that delivers a future-ready banking experience. The platform is specifically designed to progressively extend across mobile and internet banking channels, creating a unified omni-channel banking ecosystem that will enhance customer convenience and banking accessibility.
The bob World 2.0 application features voice-enabled payments and navigation as a standout capability, allowing customers to initiate transactions and navigate banking services through voice commands. This voice-banking feature represents a significant advancement in digital banking accessibility, enabling customers to interact with their bank through natural language commands rather than traditional interfaces. The platform combines AI-powered engagement with personalised experiences, allowing the platform to respond more effectively to the changing needs of different customer groups. The Personal Financial Management (PFM) module forms part of the bank's broader focus on moving beyond traditional digital transactions towards a more holistic digital financial experience. As reported by multiple sources, the app allows users to handle transactions and access services just by speaking: no more endless tapping, making banking operations significantly more convenient and user-friendly.
The bob World 2.0 application offers four primary capabilities designed to enhance customer banking experience. As reported by Bank of Baroda, these include voice-enabled payments and navigation allowing customers to initiate transactions and access functionalities through voice command, a comprehensive Personal Financial Management (PFM) module enabling customers to gain a holistic view of their finances and improve financial wellness, enhanced hyper-personalisation and persona-based customer experience tailored to individual customer needs such as Senior Citizens, Women, NRIs, Millennials, and a multi-layered security framework that provides real-time protection for user data. The platform also includes enhanced security architecture that ensures convenience does not compromise digital safety. According to the latest reports, the app tailors experiences for different users like millennials, NRIs, women, and seniors, ensuring personalised banking experiences across diverse customer segments.
Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO of Bank of Baroda, emphasized the strategic importance of the new platform at the GFF 2026 launch. According to the bank's statement, Chand stated that as banking becomes increasingly digital, customers expect experiences that are intuitive, intelligent, secure and highly personalised. He noted that with bob World 2.0, the bank has reimagined mobile banking around changing customer expectations, combining financial wellness tools, voice-enabled AI-driven engagement and personalised customer experiences on a single platform. As a forward-looking, customer-centric institution, the bank remains committed to continuously innovating and building a future-ready digital banking ecosystem that will continue to evolve with the changing needs and expectations of customers.
