Axis Bank on Monday launched the 'ARISE Homecoming' initiative for globally educated Indian talent seeking career opportunities in India, thereby extending its hiring philosophy beyond geographies. According to the bank's statement, the programme is specifically designed to attract Indian students either pursuing or having recently completed education at overseas universities, as well as professionals with up to two years of international work experience. The initiative represents India's third-largest private sector bank's strategic approach to leveraging global talent pools for domestic market opportunities.
The bank highlighted that about 12.54 lakh Indian students were enrolled in overseas higher education institutions in 2025, creating a sizeable pool of professionals with international exposure and diverse perspectives. This substantial talent pool positions the programme to tap into a diverse range of international educational backgrounds and professional experiences. The bank emphasized that as India continues to emerge as a leading growth market, the programme enables this talent to participate in the country's next phase of economic and industry transformation.
According to the bank's statement, the programme welcomes candidates across degrees, disciplines and institutions, with emphasis on skills, potential and role fit. The initiative will enable candidates to explore opportunities across business, technology, digital, strategy, wealth, governance and other functions, based on the bank's requirements. This comprehensive approach ensures the programme can accommodate diverse skill sets and career interests among globally educated professionals.
Rajkamal Vempati, Group Head – Human Resources, Axis Bank, emphasized the programme's strategic importance in today's evolving banking landscape. Vempati stated that the programme is intended to give globally educated Indian talent an opportunity to build careers where they can create impact while growing alongside India's evolving banking and financial services sector. With India continuing to attract investment and expand across technology, digital and financial services, ARISE Homecoming positions returning talent as a potential source of skills and global perspectives for the domestic workforce. Vempati noted that careers today are increasingly shaped by choice, purpose and the opportunity to create impact, creating a pathway for globally educated talent to build fulfilling careers at Axis Bank.
